Welcome to… Smithtown.town

Smithtown is a quaint town located on the north shore of Long Island. It has a total population of approximately 120,000 residents.

The Town of Smithtown includes the following Hamlets and Villages: Commack, Head of the Harbor, Hauppauge, Kings Park, Nesconset, Nissequogue, Smithtown, St. James, and Village of the Branch. It also includes some parts of Fort Salonga and Lake Ronkonkoma.

There are four public school districts in the township, two of which are entirely within the town’s boundaries. Smithtown revitalization has begun to see new life, with a plan of new projects to facilitate the enjoyment and convenience for the residents. The project is one of the towns most important infrastructure projects in decades, focusing on the Lake Avenue Business Corridor. The work will include the installation of dry sewerage lines and the improvement of streetscapes. With this project, there are many small projects that start with the purpose of town development. Beside all of these, commuters in Smithtown also enjoy the convenience of transportation with three Long Island rail road stations (St Saint James, Smithtown, Kings park) and Suffolk county transit bus routes. Easy access to major county routes in Suffolk County are: Interstate 495 (Long Island Expressway), Northern State Parkway, Sagtikos State Parkway, and Sunken Meadow State Parkway.
